THERE IS NO WIND AT ALL

In progress

In 1974, after a coup d’état ordered by the military Junta in Greece, Turkey launched a full-scale military invasion and still occupies 36% of Cyprus. More than 200.000 people were displaced within the borders of the country. Greek Cypriots fled to the South and Turkish Cypriots were gradually displaced to the North within the first year.

Stefany Karghoti talks 48 years later with refugees from both communities and their children in the hope of understanding in which way the displacement has affected their sense of identity.
